Women in BICSI extends deadline for Cabling Skills Challenge applicants

Women in BICSI has extended the deadline for applicants to represent the group in the Cabling Skills Challenge during the BICSI Winter Conference and Exhibition, taking place January 30 through February 3. Prospective participants now have until January 7 to apply for the opportunity.

Women in BICSI is supporting a female contestant to participate in the competition through the BICSI Cares Women in BICSI Cabling Skills Challenge Grant, which was created by the BICSI Cares board of directors to promote women in the information and communications technology (ICT) field. The grant provides financial support to a female competitor who has been accepted to compete in the challenge. The grant funds will apply to direct travel costs associated, including airfare, transportation, lodging, and meals.

Applicants must submit a 2022 Cabling Skills Challenge application and be accepted to compete, the submit the BICSI Cares Women in BICSI Cabling Skills Challenge Grant application. Each applicant must secure approval from their employer to compete, and must have a current BICSI INST1, INST2, INSTC, INSTF, or TECH certification at the time of the application and at the time of the competition.

“Competitors are selected based on qualifying criteria such as professionalism, quality of resume, and work experience,” Women in BICSI said. “All competitors will receive a full complimentary conference registration, sponsored by BICSI.”
