Optical Power Meter Measures 7 Wavelengths

Softing’s CableMaster FO is a pocket-sized tool with VFL capabilities that also can test copper patch cords for wiremap.

Softing’s CableMaster FO is an optical power meter used in combination with the company’s LinkXpert M3 as an optical-loss test set.

CableMaster FO includes red-light visual fault locator (VFL) capabilities for port/polarity detection, along with an attenuation meter for determining the attenuation of 7 different wavelengths in dB, a power meter for determining signal strength in dBm/mW, and a copper-patch-cord tester that checks wiremap. The tool also includes a built-in flashlight for dark workspaces.

Softing says the rechargeable battery operates for up to 80 hours, and the unit stores 50 or more measurements. The unit’s dimensions are 105x65x25 mm (~4.1x2.5x1 inches).

LinkXpert M3, the companion tool for CableMaster FO, is a cabling and network troubleshooter that helps solve network problems including cabling and Ethernet issues. LinkXpert M3 connects to copper, fiber, and WiFi and is used to diagnose all common LAN Ethernet networks.

These Tower Tech XR cooling towers use evaporative cooling to remove heat generated within the data center by IT equipment. Composite cooling towers are more compact and significantly lighter than metal towers. They arrive at a data center site pre-built.
Data center designers shouldn’t sleep on the benefits of fiberglass construction materials.
