AEM Precision Cable Test is Now AEM Networks
AEM’s Precision Cable Test business is now operating as AEM Networks. The business supplies LAN cable certification testers, smart building network testers, vector network analyzers, and cable harness test solutions.
The company explained, “AEM Networks Pte. Ltd. is a subsidiary of AEM and headquartered in Singapore. The move marks the evolution of the business into a new growth phase, focused on expanding its product portfolio to address testing needs for networks in an increasingly AI-driven digital economy.”
The business unit’s general manager Harshang Pandya noted, “The way networks are built and operated has changed, driven by AI and increasingly data-intensive environments. The way they are tested must evolve accordingly. AEM Networks will serve the customers with our industry-leading solutions and efficient test workflow.” To that end, Pandya and AEM point out that network infrastructure is becoming more software-defined, distributed, and performance-sensitive. AI workloads in particular place increasing demands on bandwidth, latency, and reliability, all while deployment cycles are shortening and governance, traceability, and audit expectations rise.
AEM Networks’ most recent product introduction is an example of what Pandya described. FiBLU, launched in January, is a mobile-app-enabled fiber certification tester that shifts intelligence, reporting, and collaboration to a smartphone. AEM Networks explains FiBLU “decouples software innovation from fixed hardware and enables a more-flexible, modern user experience.” It synchronizes test results through the cloud, delivering real-time visibility into progress and enabling issues to be identified and solved on-site.
“FiBLU, together with the UniBLU mobile app, reflects AEM Networks’ broader direction: moving from traditional hardware-centric testing toward a software-defined, app-native model,” the company declared. “The objective is not only to certify links, but to enable faster decisions, better collaboration, and continuous assurance across the deployment process.”
Other tools and capabilities in AEM Networks’ portfolio include the following.
TestPro and Network Service Assistant (NSA): TestPro is a certification tester capable of physical and network layer tests including Power over Ethernet, while also providing a time domain reflectometer (TDR) analyzer that has specific uses, among others, for automotive cables. NSA with CertiLite technology is an economical option for performing full RF testing on cables from a single end. It also supports multigigabit network and PoE tests.
Cable harness and component testing: VNA Manager Pro software provides tools for vector network analysis of multiport cables and components using MMVNA (Mixed-Mode Multiport Vector Network Analysis) and customized test fixtures. AEM Networks has plans to grow its high-frequency RF VNA product offerings as well as its high-port-count cable harness testers.
