Stewart Connector (Glen Rock, PA), a Bel group company (NASDAQ: BELFA and BELFB) and manufacturer of high-speed connectors used in data communication applications, announced the release of its M12 A-Code Series connectors, targeting environments where rugged connectors are needed to power and communicate with equipment widely found in today’s manufacturing environments.

This series of connectors is interface compatible with other industry-standard M12 A-Code connectors. Stewart Connector’s M12 series includes A-Code product variety including both male and female panel mount connectors, and field terminatable plugs in both 4 and 5-pin options.

Stewart Connector notes that DeviceNet, CANbus and Fieldbus communication protocols primarily use M12 A-Code connectors with either 4 or 5-pin options.

The manufacturer says its M12 series (M-metric/12mm circular connector industry standard diameter) with A-coding, or keying, prevents mismatching with other M12 versions. A-Code M12 connectors are most often used for sensor communication and carrying DC power.

The M12 A-Code series offers both IDC and soldering termination options for quick and easy installations, replacements, or upgrades. All of Stewart Connector’s M12 products are IP67 rated when installed, adding to the reliable nature of these connectors in industrial environments.

The company notes that M12 connectors have long been a popular standard in factory automation sensors and power applications, now also expanding into robotic applications and alternative energy solutions.

Stewart Connector products are available via distribution at Digi-Key, Mouser, and Newark. For more information, download the M12 A-Code Series datasheet or visit the product page at https://belfuse.com/product-detail/stewart-connector-m12-a-code-connectors.
