March 25, 2003 - FOTP-199 specifies method for measuring polarization crosstalk.

FOTP-199 specifies an in-line method for measuring the accumulated polarization crosstalk at a particular physical location along a span of polarization-maintaining (PM) fiber. This standard is applicable to single sections of PM fiber, to cascaded PM fibers and to PM fibers interconnected with optical devices.

Neat-Patch (www.neatpatch.com), a Hopkinsville, KY-based company founded in 2002, has introduced a patch-cord management product, also called Neat-Patch. The company describes the product as "a unique one-piece plastic-molded design that is non-conductive and therefore cannot be associated with electrical issues such as surges and grounding."
