PulR unveils expanded line of cable pulling adapters at 2022 BICSI Fall show

Different from cable socks and wire mesh cable grips, the PulR CPAs are designed to support the cable's outer diameter to provide maximum grip in the smallest length, yet take seconds to install and remove.

PulR Technologies, Inc. announced that it will be exhibiting from September 26-28 at the 2022 BICSI Fall Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas. At the company's exhibition booth #531, the second generation of the PulR Cable Pulling Adapter (CPA), which the manufacturer says provide three times the pulling grip of competitive solutions, will be unveiled.

PulR Technologies manufactures a complete line of CPAs, which allow attachment of a pulling eye or pulling stick to a cable. Different from cable socks and wire mesh cable grips, the PulR CPAs are designed to support the cable outer diameter to provide maximum grip in the smallest length, yet take seconds to install and remove.

The pulling adapters are based on a re-entrant cable groove design, which makes it possible for installers to avoid ever using electrical tape to accomplish a pull. "Since electrical tape is usually not recycled after being used, PulR makes it possible to avoid its use entirely," states the company.

Various models of PulR CPA cover handle pulling on optical fiber, and pulling for twisted pair unterminated cables, as well as for the same cables pre-terminated with connectors, for both optical fiber cabling with SC connectors and twisted-pair cabling with RJ-45 connectors.

At the BICSI show, the following second generation PulR CPA models will be exhibited, for covering the following cable diameters (Ø):

  • Slim PulR CPA for optical fiber SC pre-terminated 4.8 mm Ø without the outer body
  • Rugged PulR CPA for optical fiber SC pre-terminated 4.8 mm Ø with the outer body
  • Inline PulR CPA, for 14/10 mm Ø micro-conduit, for 4.8 mm Ø unterminated or pre-terminated self-bend limiting optical fiber cables – without the SC outer body.
  • Inline PulR CPA, for 14/10 mm Ø micro-conduit, for 6 mm Ø Category 6 UTP cables
  • UTP PulR CPA for 6 mm Ø Category 6 UTP pre-terminated cables with the RJ-45 connector present
  • UTP Hexa PulR CPA for pulling on up to 6 Category 6 UTP cables at the same time
  • PulR Installer’s kit – Kit bundles four foot long M5Ø threaded pulling sticks sections, a rope pulling eye, and a customized choice of PulR CPA’s in a convenient lightweight transport case.

The founder of PulR Technologies and the tools' inventor, Francois Menard, has made two videos demonstrating use of the respective PulR CPA tools for:

The pulling of a 4.8 mm SC APC patch cable of ruggedized bend insensitive self-bend limiting capability for FTTH / FTTX applications:

The pulling of a Cat 6 cable inside a 14/10 micro conduit with a 30 cm bend radius:
