AEM adds network test capability to TestPro CV100 multifunction cable tester

At the 2019 BICSI Fall show, AEM announced the addition of network test functions to its TestPro CV100 multifunction cable tester.

At last week's 2019 BICSI Fall Conference in Las Vegas, AEM announced the addition of network test functions to its TestPro CV100 multifunction cable tester, a tool aimed at both network technicians and service providers.

Together with copper and fiber cable certification of Cat 5e through Cat 8 media, PoE validation supporting 802.3 af/at/bt, and multi-gigabit link speed qualification up to 10GigE, the CV100's new network testing capability can connect to a live network either through the unit's integrated 10/100/1000 network interface, or through a built-in WiFi interface.

Once TestPro is connected, the unit's auto-discovery feature displays other connected devices on the network. The user can ping any other device on the local network or on the internet to determine connectivity and latency. The WiFi connection tool also shows received power level from available access points. Newly released network test functions are available to all TestPro customers via complimentary software update.

"Our goal is to enable network technicians and service providers to successfully navigate through installation, network turn-on, and maintenance using a single test tool," says Lisa Schwartz, director of marketing and channels at AEM. She adds, "Availability of network testing features on TestPro is a big step in achieving this goal. Technicians benefit from the industry-leading test speed, quick troubleshooting, and a wide range of test functions. Managers benefit from significant productivity gain and the low cost of ownership of TestPro."

The AEM TestPro's network test functions were demonstrated in the AEM booth at the 2019 BICSI Fall show in Las Vegas from Sept. 30 – Oct. 2. Learn more at https://aem-test.com/products.
