Tempo Communications today announced the launch of its FSP200 Optical Fusion Splicer with core alignment technology, and the launch of its FCL200 Optical Fiber Cleaver with auto-end cut collection.
The compact and versatile fusion splicer, and the precision-oriented fiber cleaver are the newest members of Tempo’s comprehensive fiber solutions portfolio, "designed for the technician who demands premium performance and efficiency," as stated by the company.
The FSP200 Optical Fusion Splicer delivers core alignment technology in the form of six precision motors for low splice loss when tackling the most complex fiber geometries. An exclusive feature also allows technicians to splice loose-tube fiber to Tempo splice-on connectors with patented adapter technology to save time and money.
“The features and benefits of the FSP200 are numerous,” said Keith Foord, fiber instruments product manager with Tempo Communications. “The end-user gets core alignment technology, the ability to splice 200 micron ‘micro’ fibers, and an IP52 Ingress Protection Rating, which means it’s water and dust resistant. All of this versatility and adaptability is delivered in a compact, easy-to-use design.”
For its part, the new FCL200 Optical Fiber Cleaver from Tempo is now also available to complement the FSP200 fusion splicer. The FCL200 features precision-engineered blades to cleave fiber with minimal loss.
To promote splicing efficiency, cleaved fiber remains in the adapter ready to splice, and is also compatible with other Tempo fusion splicer models in addition to the FSP200, including the models 910FS and 915FS. Field tested to optimally perform, the new cleaver’s dust bin safely collects end cuts.
